Daniel  11 Prophecies Fulfilled
Chapter eleven of Daniel is full of history stories about many kings. It seems there are the same kinds of things being done by all the kings. One does a mean thing, so others take revenge and there is killing. Everyone breaks the Ten Commandments. There is killing, lying, stealing, and adultery. God gave Daniel the main details about kings long before they were even born. Things happened exactly as God said they would. This proves to my mind that Daniel's visions were from God. I think these details in this chapter help us to trust God. He is always in control.
Numismatics is the study of coins. It lets us view direct evidence of the past by looking at the money used by these people of long ago.

This king of the South was Ptolemy of Egypt. He made his daughter marry the king of the North. The coin shows a picture of Antiochus king of Syria. He was already married He got rid of his wife Laodice and 2 boys so he could marry the Egyptian princess. The angry abandoned wife hired someone to kill the new Egyptian princess and her baby. The Bible said all this would happen. (Daniel 11:7)

Instead of peace, there was war. Antiochus of Syria and Ptolemy of Egypt (seen in this coin with his wife) were always fighting. Then Ptolemy of Egypt killed thousands of Jews. This did not help anything. (Daniel 11:12) Eventually Syria was successful against Egypt. (Daniel 11:15)
The Bible now looks at a man that would fight against Egypt. He did what ever he felt like. Egypt gave Cleopatra, daughter of the Egyptian king to this man. But even though she pretended to love him, she was lying. It was a trick to help Egypt. They were enemies.
Brutus, one of Julius Caesar's princes killed Julius just like the Bible said he would years before it happened. (Daniel 11:19) Julius had bad habits that made his soldiers  not like him. It looked like he was helping Egypt instead of his own people. A coin was made to brag about king Julius. I think the coin helps us see that what God said was right. God knows all that is done in secret even before it happens. That is why I can believe God's prophecies about the soon coming Sunday law.

God did not stop all this trouble even when He knew it was coming. He allows people to see how far Satan will take people in sin. Those who break the commandments are not happy. There will be no one in heaven who stubbornly breaks the commandments by killing, lying, stealing, and committing adultery.

The next king after Julius was Octavian who was also called Caesar August. He raised taxes. It was at this time that Jesus was born. Remember when Mary and Joseph had to go to Bethlehem to pay taxes? It was just at the time for Jesus to be born. Remember how Jesus was born in a barn or stable? Then when the wise men asked where the new king was, Herod tried to kill all babies including Jesus.
After Octavian was a very very bad king. Daniel says he was "vile". Even his own people did not like or honor him. He was king when Jesus was healing and teaching. Jesus was baptized in the 15th year of Tiberius (Luke 3:1) In AD 12 Tiberius was ruling jointly with a king who wanted only to rest. Later Tiberius was killed in AD 37. This was 6 years after Jesus was crucified. (AD 31)
There was a total of 360 years of time that Rome had emperors. From the first Roman emperor Augustus in 31 BC till AD 330 was exactly 360 years. At that point there was a change. Constantine moved the capital to Constantinople. In Daniel 11:24 it refers to a "time". When the Bible talks about a "time" it means prophetic time period of 360 day years. So the total time Rome had this kind of leadership, was 360 years.
Now in this chapter, Daniel goes back in history to the time of Cleopatra of Egypt to give some more details. Daniel did not forget to say these things before, he just has a way of writing that goes back and gives more detail. I see these details were left out earlier. Now he gives a bigger picture. To make sure that the Bible student recognizes who he is talking about, he ads more details. This is like a summary or recapitulation.

After Julius Caesar died, Mark Antony liked Cleopatra. Daniel gives details of how people pretended to be friends but were planning to kill. In the end, both Cleopatra and Mark Antony ended their own unhappy lives. God says in Exodus 20 not to kill. They were wrong in killing themselves.

In Daniel 11:31 a new kind of king is talked about. See if you can guess who this is. There are many clues. This king mixes in Bible teachings with corruption or made up stories.

This king made it hard to know the truth about the sanctuary. He killed those who did understand the sanctuary truth. He used fire, sword, prison, and spoiled all that God's people had.

This king claimed he was more important than any god

The Bible says this king honored the god of forces. He liked force. He would honor gold, silver and precious stones. It is very interesting to look at the Eye Witness video on Rocks and Gems. It shows a cup that some people of the Roman Catholic Church believed Jesus drank out of. It is gold, with a green stone called emerald in the handle. They claim the green stone was knocked out of the crown of Satan when he fell from heaven. This is a made up story that is not in the Bible. Honor is being shown the precious stone, the emerald. This fulfills Daniel 11:38. There are other made up stories about the rocks where people think emerald has power. The Egyptians thought this and wore the jewelry for good luck and protection.
AT the time of the end, the king would put his palace in Jerusalem between the seas in the glorious holy mountain. The Bible says this king would not live forever. He would come to his end.
Remember the horn powers on the beast that grew and talked saying many of the same things as just mentioned. They are all pointing to the same events.

The long horn of the goat, the talking horn of Daniel 7 and Revelation leopard beast all say the same things.

Finally in chapter 12 Michael stands up. Now, Michael is Jesus. He will finish His work in the Most Holy place where He is High Priest. He will say it is finished, and whoever is still bad will stay that way. Whoever still wants to be like Jesus and keep His law holy will stay like that. The final chapter of Daniel is packed with secrets about the events just about to come on God's people. Read. pray for help and understand.

When Jesus stands up and ends protection, there will be a terrible time of trouble. This time will be worse than the world has ever seen. God's people who keep the commandments and have their names in the book of LIFE will be delivered.

Do you have a Bible? If you do, the following information can be skipped over and you can read right from your own Bible.  You can go next to the QUIZ.

Daniel 11:36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
11:37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. 11:38 But in his estate shall he honor the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
11:39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge [and] increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
11:40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
11:41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many [countries] shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, [even] Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.
11:42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
11:43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians [shall be] at his steps.
11:44 But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
11:45 And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
